The Plowright Medical Centre at Swaffham has 6 consulting rooms, 2 minor treatment rooms, a dispensary, 5 offices, a meeting room, staff room and health visitor/community nursing rooms. It has been awarded the LIFT Sustainability Award and been praised by CABE, the SHINE network and Community Health Partnerships as an exemplar design for others to follow.
The building's utilisation of sustainable materials makes it extremely cost-effective to run. It has minimal carbon dioxide emissions, with energy consumption less than a third of the mandatory targets set by the Department of Health. Surveys have shown that both staff and patients give the building an "excellent" rating.
