40 bed community hospital and outpatients facilities. This is planned to be a quality civic building that is highly energy efficient and that will improve the delivery of facilities to the end user, maximising the use of space, light and privacy. Adaptable meeting rooms at 'front of house', available to the general public, are a key element of the policy to make the hospital part of the local community. The involvement of art will be an important feature, with a children's art gallery planned for the main circulation areas.
