This creation of a District Centre involved the provision of substantive highways alterations and internal ring road; the construction and fitting out of a 100,000 ft² (9,300m²) food retail store with its associated car parking and service provision; provision of 190,000 ft² (17,500 m²) of non-food retail units; 15 000 ft² (1,400m²) of bars and restaurants; 10,000 ft² (930m²) of car showrooms; provision of two multi-use sports halls with separate entrances and parking facilities.
