Provision of support service to facilitate the ten year planned progression of this premier-tier private school from an old fashioned, predominantly boy's dormitory style boarding school into a mixed sex, day and boarding school. Following a campus-wide review, a redevelopment programme was undertaken which took fully into account the planning status of the campus and the number of important buildings on the site which is in a listed conservation area.
The works carried out under our control were as follows:
- Two new residencies and study blocks for boys - part new build and part conversion of existing buildings
- Two new residencies and study blocks for girls incorporating building over a planning sensitive pond within the boundaries of the build area - this scheme won an RIBA Civic Trust Award
- New swimming pool and sports changing facilities - the first stage in the development of a new sports and fitness complex - this scheme won a Heritage Trust Design Award
- Alterations to existing teaching blocks to facilitate the new requirements
- Alterations of existing residencies to upgrade them in line with the new developments
- New design and technology building incorporating an exhibition space and a computer studio
- Feasibility reviews for further projects for funding campaigns
